We are always scouting "the best" that San Antonio has to offer. One of the sections we have brought back to the pages of SA Monthly is the law section. Look out for "Lawyer of the Month" Maricela Cavazos' interview at Bonita Productions as she describes what it is like to be a female lawyer and mediator. The interview is on the SA Monthly Facebook page.

This was the official "music issue" and the response was amazing! Below are more "highlights" from the special music edition of SA Monthly Magazine.

One of the "themes" of this issue was "Valentine's Day." In the music section, our nightlife editors explains how to make the perfect profile online. She also presents to San Antonio our "Single of the Month." In other sections (Food, Fitness, Driven) you will notice articles centered around the idea of love, or use the color red.

Here are some Valentine's Day Highlights:

SA Monthly "Model of the Month" Introduced as a "Heartthrob"

Special "Valentine's Themed" Fitness articles on the heart and self-love! Also, introducing a new editor to the fitness section, Sarah Lucero!

In "Food" our sections featured HEB Central Market's Valentine's Day menu selections, wine articles, and even a special "Recipe of the Month."

Our "Driven" Section also matched the Valentine's theme!

The last theme I will mention, is the celebration of Black History Month. Here are only a few profiles that celebrated this theme!

Boxing in San Antonio Featuring Jesse James Leija

Boxing is one of the most popular combat sports in the world...and it can become your favorite workout routine. Unlike a normal workout at the gym, it teaches self-defense moves while helping burn calories at the same time. On top of that, it provides a full-body workout that can take off 3-4 pounds a workout (depending on the intensity level) which is much more than a regular gym workout. Boxing is a good way to keep toned while also keeping your mind engaged with moves that build your reflexes (sparring and the boxing bag will help with this.) The self-defense aspect of boxing helps build confidence, such as taking on a sport like karate. Learning how to defend against different attackers will help prepare you for any situation where you feel that you are under attack. Boxing will also make you stronger and more durable through medicine ball throwing, pull ups, push ups, and ab workouts. Another benefit of boxing is coordination. FAQ: How to Become Socialite of the Year?

"Who is she?" Onlookers seem to wonder when she steps into a room. Her fashion sense is impeccable, or unusual, or there is just a certain something that no one can put their finger on...but it turns heads. The French call it "Je ne Sais Quoi" which literally translates to "I don't know what." This woman carries a quality that cannot be adequately described. In English this quality is called, "charisma." Each year S.A.Monthly looks out for this woman to announce our next Socialite of the Year. To be the next Socialite of the Year one has to be a community leader whose presence has made an impact. This person also has to have the attention of the whole community. Our Socialite of the Year Alumni have gone on to do great things, some ended up on television shows, or started a clothing line, or walked catwalks all over the world...who can you think of who deserves to be featured? Let us know! It is never too late to get noticed by SA Mo
